Today was my scouting trip to Silverwood Farm, a horse show venue just over the Illinois-Wisconsin border in Camp Lake, Wisconsin. It’s in some pretty rolling-hill countryside, in the middle of a little group of lakes. A couple of the vendors who I met at last weekend’s show were there, and introduced me to the woman I needed to meet in order to make plans to put up my booth here. It seems like a very friendly, laid-back place. Booking your booth at a show means mostly calling them to let them know you’ll be there. Then it’s first come, first served as far as where you get to set up. Everyone has to go past the vendors, whether they’re going from the stabling area to the show ring, or to the office, or to the parking lot. So that’s a good thing. Now I just have to work on my “chatting-up” skills so I can get them to stop by on their way.
Charm, showing off the only braids that will stay in her endless mane.
