Good news on the (personal) horse front

My one and only favorite horse

My one and only favorite horse

My best (horse) friend had his periodic evaluation of his torn ligament today, and the news is very good. I trotted him out in hand for the vet, and she said the trot looked very solid. Then she did an ultrasound exam, and I got to compare today’s views with the pictures from February (when we first discovered the tear). The fibers in the ligament are healing nice, straight and even. Another month and a half of hand walking–such fun (we’re up to 38 minutes twice a day now)–then we can think about walking under saddle. Taking it slowly, one day and one walk at a time. But it seems to be paying off!

I am so happy to hear about Billy…now walking under saddle, that will be something.
