I got word a couple of days ago that my three entries in the Ex Arte Equinus 4 competition sponsored by Art Horse Magazine (www.arthorsemagazine.com) arrived and winners will be announced in late December. This is an interesting competition because instead of being displayed in a public venue like a gallery, the winning artworks will be published in the magazine, and also in a hardcover book available on the magazine’s website. Since this magazine is targeted directly at lovers of equines and art that they appear in, this publication provides an audience which is favorably inclined to view horse-related art work with interest right from the start.
I tend to be practical about almost everything, but when it comes to things like competitions (of any kind!) I can get a little superstitious. So I’m not revealing which of my paintings I have entered, but if any of them are winners the news will appear right here as soon as I get the good word!
