Done!

The little blind paint mare is done!

The little blind paint mare is done!

This is it! The final coat of paint! What amazes me is how differently the camera captures colors depending on time of day and location of the painting being photographed. I can look at the original photograph and at the painting and I know they are very, very close. But when I took this photo I had to Photoshop the bejesus out of it to get it close to what I know it should be. And I’m not exactly a dummy when it comes to camera settings–I know about color temperature adjustments and all that stuff. Sometimes I guess there’s just no explaining…

So, a color-adjusted photo of the painting is now in cloud-transit to the Art for Shelter Animals Project so it can be posted on their blog. It’s been a long time since I mentioned them, but that is where I got the idea in the first place to do paintings of rescue animals and donate the paintings to the rescue organizations to use as they see fit. Auctioning them at fundraisers seems to be the favorite activity so far. Hope this one goes for some significant bucks.
