OK, here’s the progress report on our little team of two. About half of the “real estate” of this painting was completed in less than an hour: the sky and the grass! Since then I have been painstakingly (for me, at least) blocking in the detail of the harness. This process is so unlike my usual broad-brush method that I find I’m sometimes getting a crick in my neck from concentrating too hard. It works a lot better with some nice moody Bob Dylan music for accompaniment. Got a lot done to “Love and Theft”. Will have to see what other interesting music I can dig up. Will also have to figure out why this photo came out so pink–it looked great in the camera display. Even Photoshop didn’t want to really fix it. Hmmm…
Charm, showing off the only braids that will stay in her endless mane.

The harness detailing is beautiful…very fine.

A few more passes to go on that harness, and if they take as long as the first one, I may still be working on this when summer comes!
