Another in my series of spare time ink drawings, this one of a lovely Hanoverian mare and her daughter, Revelation, also known simply as Reva. There will be more to come from this very photogenic pair, as I have about 50 really nice photos of them. Should keep me busy for a while! Will also be keeping an eye on Reva, who at the time of this photo was only about 3 weeks old. She was already showing lots of promise.
Charm, showing off the only braids that will stay in her endless mane.

For not the first time, but maybe the last time, I have started a "home business". The difference with this one is that it is one I really enjoy. I've drawn and painted horses since I was (at least) five years old--that's the earliest one that my mother saved.By the time I entered my teens, Mother had grown a bit tired of the subject and urged me to do something else with my artwork besides horses. I followed her advice and never looked back until ten years ago when it occurred to me that people might actually pay for horse portraits. I have had many exhibits of my landscapes, and sold a good number of them--but not enough to provide any kind of steady income.
I'm hoping that if I work hard and market this business well I will be able to delight my customers, make some money, and have a lot of fun doing it.

Thanks, Hansi. Good thing horses don’t have fingers and toes–then they could be really difficult!

A lovely ink drawing. It’s so complex and virtuously drawn that it really brings out the personalities of the horses. Spare time ink drawing you say? It’s still beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

“Spare time” means when I’m at a horse show or horse expo and nobody has stopped at my booth to chat or inquire. If it’s a really slow day, I put myself to work drawing. I made the original reference a while back in another post, but I often forget that not everybody reads every post!

Hi Ali! After being away form the world of WordPress for quite some time I came across your very much appreciated comment on the latest post I wrote. Whilst in the process of writing a response back to you; to thank you for your kindness, insight and foresight your comment vanished from my page 😦
So in a nutshell I just wish to thank you for your words of encouragement and support. They really do mean the world to me.
