One down, one to go

This is the photo used on the cover of the children’s book.

My watercolor version…

Well, here we go! The watercolor is a softer look, which is as it should be if you are not, as I am not, a hyper-realistic painter. But I’m satisfied that I captured the spirit of the photo, since the plan is to have them displayed side by side at the silent auction. I had to trim a bit off the left hand side of the photo since the length/width proportions were different than my Aquabord™, and a board being a board, I wasn’t about to try to alter its proportions. At least I can say this: working with this board is getting a whole lot easier than it was when I started a few months ago!
