Two down, zero to go!

As is usual with my watercolors, the Aquabord™ version is softer but still captures the spirit of the original photo. It’s always hard to tell what the actual printed photo looked like as far as color values and hues are concerned because as we all know computer monitors can show lots of inconsistencies among themselves and when I print it myself my printer can also make it look entirely different. I always print out several versions and usually have to “lighten” them considerably in Photoshop so I can see some of the detail in the darker areas. As I progress through the painting I switch from one printout to another depending on whether I’m looking at detail, hue, contrast or color saturation. You really wanted to know all that, didn’t you??

Anyhow, I’m super pleased with the two paintings of Padré and they will be on their way to the fundraiser very soon.

Well done. Hard for me to believe they’re watercolor; a medium way beyond my skill level.
