Are we there yet? It’s getting kind of foggy…

Fourth pass. Last pass?

Fourth pass. Last pass?

I think we’re there, but not quite sure. This last version is still too fresh. Will have to let it sit a couple of days then see how I feel about it. Valor has deeper color now and Stonie has receded a little more into the mist. Stonie’s side of the background is darker and less defined, while Valor’s side has more detail and more color. I also added some refinement to Valor’s wonderful mane.

What makes the evaluation of this painting difficult is that in person the mist is a lot more evident. For some reason the camera just doesn’t want to pick it up and insists on overemphasizing the color. B-a-d camera! It may have something to do with the transparency of the mist. You’ll just have to trust me when I say it’s really there.

  2. It looks really great now and I like the idea of using the mist to create space and perspective between Valor and Stonie.

Looking good. Evil cameras and Photoshop never do art works justice.
