The artistic teeter-totter

"Sky Pads #1", second iteration.

“Sky Pads #1”, second iteration.

I would love to say that this is done, but I am swinging back and forth between leaving it alone and making those pads a little less realistic. As it is, they’re only about half as realistic as the source photo, but that doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to the artistic interpretation.

At any rate, as I often do when perplexed, I’m going to leave this one alone but in an obvious place in my studio so I can see it every day while I prepare the canvas for the next one in the series. Hopefully by the time the poured background on the successor is dry enough to paint over I will have reached a solution for this one. Pretty sure it will all happen with time.

  1. the painting fits well with those of the impressionists.

  2. i do the same thing – i place a work in progress in different areas as i go through the days, and i critique it (silently) and let it incubate..

i love what you’re doing and am sorry i have so little time online to give you more support.. good work, amiga!

    love, lisa
