Charm and her no-sew braids
We’re in costume for our Hawaii 5-0 music themed quadrille at last weekend’s horse show. Charm has enough mane for two horses plus part of a pony, so it’s been a challenge to find a faster yet indestructible method for show braids. I can now safely say that after a bit of practice the method I found a few weeks ago is indeed foolproof. The photo above was taken after two previous classes, one of which involved threading a feather boa through her mane and then pulling it out again. Stunning braids. Biasini does not have a thick enough mane for this. I love the idea of your Hawaii quadrille. Did you post video and I missed it?

Actually these braids can be done on any thickness of mane. The “gotcha” is that the mane has to be really long. So I guess the choice is, put up with a long mane all year round to get some quick indestructible braids, or, have a neat tidy mane all year round but spend more time sewing the braids in.
As for the quadrille video, I have it but you can’t hear the music well from where the camera was situated. Our team leader Kim has the clean music track but she took off for a vacation with her family right after the show. I‘ll get the music when she gets back and lay it onto the video, then y’all can enjoy it!

If you click back to the blog post right before this one, I just added some super cool drone video of one of our pas de deux rehearsals. You might like to take a gander at it while we wait for the quadrille video. Who knew horses looked like fish from 300 feet up?
