For not the first time, but maybe the last time, I have started a "home business". The difference with this one is that it is one I really enjoy. I've drawn and painted horses since I was (at least) five years old--that's the earliest one that my mother saved.By the time I entered my teens, Mother had grown a bit tired of the subject and urged me to do something else with my artwork besides horses. I followed her advice and never looked back until ten years ago when it occurred to me that people might actually pay for horse portraits. I have had many exhibits of my landscapes, and sold a good number of them--but not enough to provide any kind of steady income.
I'm hoping that if I work hard and market this business well I will be able to delight my customers, make some money, and have a lot of fun doing it.

2018 Quadrille is here
This performance almost didn’t happen. On Saturday one of the horses slipped her stifle right before we went in the ring. Our Wonder Woman barn manager manipulated everything back in place and thankfully on Sunday the mare was ready to … Continue reading
Short interruption for some swag
OK, enough about painting for a couple of minutes. I belong to two dressage GMO’s (group member organizations) and at the end of each year they give out awards for that year’s show season. So— Champion high point for Quadrille … Continue reading
The long-awaited…2017 Rockin’ Riders Quadrille video
No, I wasn’t lazy. Even though this performance was in early July (after our rather dismal performance in June) and I promised video of it “soon”, I didn’t get the complete set of two video camera angles until a couple … Continue reading
Charm and I love the number 5
It couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend for a horse show. Cool, dry, breezy. Overnight on Thursday it rained probably a couple of inches at the showground, but by the time we arrived on Friday evening the wonderful sand … Continue reading
Chardon Valley results, and then some
I can thank Charm for all of the above. We won in the musical freestyle quadrille class and Training Level test 3, then flamed out fifth out of five in the First Level test 2. Interesting side note–our losing … Continue reading
Quadrille!!
Back in early spring four of us formed a dressage quadrille team. We had never done this before, and it was “fraught”! I had just acquired my new mare, Charm, and she was not fond of drill team-style riding. … Continue reading
