Back in business

One short vacation and three sick days later, I’m back in business so to speak. Guess I lied to myself that my last post would be the final one for 2017 đŸ˜‹. Got some nice trees going here on the final cottage painting, and will have a new disguised surprise commission coming up as soon as I get the drawing done and a first layer of paint on it.

Dance of the naked trees…

I like these trees just as they are. My husband often says “Leave it there” with my unfinished paintings (which I never do) but I can sort of see what he means about the empty canvas making an interesting painting! Happy New Year!

The trees are pretty much exactly how they’re going to stay, except for making them a bit darker as I go along. They will have to be dark enough to look like night but not so dark as to blend in with the sky behind. More calculations…
